Most readers have an average reading speed of 200 wpm, which is about as fast as they can read a passage out loud. Speed reading is the art of silencing subvocalization.

Not sure if that makes sense but it's kind of like when you watch a foreign movie with subtitles and after a while you stop noticing they're there, even though you're still obviously reading them.Paste the text you'd like to speed read here: I usually don't read a single word at a time in truth, I kind of split my focus and skim the sentences ahead of where I'm reading at the same time. Then again, I think I actually read faster without word runner. Setting word runner to that makes me start wanting to multitask between words. For me I really can't read any slower than 200 though. I've never really tried to be a fast reader, I just obsessively read constantly as a kid so I think I just naturally developed the skill. (My comprehension is pretty high still when I skim) Sci-Fi or fantasy books I sometimes have slow down to be sure I understand well, technical texts I might average even faster because I speed read to parts I need more depth on and then I might read that at only 200 wpm, then go back to speed reading. When I use word runner on the kindle app I like it set to 400 for a comfortable reading speed typically. But for me that was a pretty easy passage.
